Brownsville Steam Show
The annual August National Pike Steam, Horse and Gas Show was held at the Association’s site near Brownsville, PA on the weekend of August 13 and 14, 2022. It is described as “A family friendly event demonstrating antique tractors ,trucks, cars, engines, construction equipment . HUGE flea market & craft areas in park like setting “. *
The event also offers space to reenacting groups to set up living history displays and hopefully recruit new members. WVRA members, William Burruss and his wife Sandy and Jim and Linda Barnes joined members of the US 28th Infantry Division Co. K reenactors for their WWII encampment.
Bill and Sandy brought their 1942 Dodge command car Jim and Linda set up a display of British WWII equipment and memorabilia.
This is fun and very laid-back event that affords many opportunities to interact with the public and well as a lot for the reenactors to do when they are not at their displays. In the past the event has hosted Civil War groups as well as 18th century groups in addition to WWII. Besides the above attractions, there is an antique car show, live music and food vendors. The Association has two events, one in the spring and one in August. Not surprisingly, they typically draw large enthusiastic crowds.
