Historic Preservation Effort – Mercersburg, PA

We are desperately looking for Civil War re-enactors to do a Living History on Oct. 10 @ 10am at the Steiger House, 120N. Main St. Mercersburg PA to commemorate Stuart’s 1862 raid and to raise awareness about the William Squire Smith House circa 1730s, a national landmark where the first resistance to British Rule took place. The Steiger House is several doors down from the Smith House which was recently purchased by the fire dept. to be razed so a parking lot can be made.
